Looking For Places To Go?

There’s a lot to see in the Vallarta area and not that far away. Rent a car and pick a direction to travel in. Go south and you’ll find great beaches at Mismaloya or Boca de Tomatlan, the Zoo at Mismaloya, the Botanical Gardens just past las Juntas de los Veranos, or you can drive up into the pine-forested hills and go on to the town of El Tuito. Don’t go too far or you’ll end up in Manzanillo. Going north will take you to Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle or Punta Mita. There you’ll find gorgeous beaches and some out-of-the-way little restaurants. Further north, take Hwy. 200 through the foothills  to reach Sayulita, San Francisco or Ricon de Guayabitos. You can also drive inland to Las Palmas or  San Juan to take in some real Mexican countryside. Be sure to bring your camera, you’ll want photos. I don’t recommend driving after dark as visibility can be very poor on the roads and animals can be hard to see at night. Try to stick to the main roads because if you run into mechanical problems you’ll get help faster. Green Angels, the government sponsored bilingual travelling mechanics patrol the main roads in their green trucks fixing stranded tourist’s vehicles and getting them back on the road. Go ahead, Do it!
